Privacy notice
Last updated 9 October 2026
LandIt connects people looking for work with employers in South Africa. This notice explains what personal information we collect, why, who can see it, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, password (stored encrypted by our authentication provider) and whether you confirmed you are 18 or older.
- Candidate profile: phone number (optional), profile photo (optional), CV, capabilities, a short experience summary, and any certificates you upload.
- Employer details: company name and description, and the roles you post.
- Hiring activity: applications, notes you send with them, interviews, offers and signed terms, messages between candidates and employers, and alerts.
Why we use it
To run LandIt: to match candidates to roles, send applications to employers, move applications through the hiring steps, and tell both sides when something happens. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- Your profile, CV, photo and certificates are visible only to employers you apply to, and only for as long as that application exists.
- Employers’ company names and live roles are public.
- Messages are visible only to the candidate and the employer on that application.
- Reasons for rejection are private to the employer unless they choose to share them with you.
How match scores work
A match score is the share of an employer’s listed requirements that appear in your capabilities, with must-have requirements counting double. No automated decision is made about you: employers decide who to interview and hire.
Where it’s stored
LandIt’s database and files are hosted by Supabase in the United Kingdom (London). By using LandIt you consent to your information being stored there, where it is protected by access rules that limit who can see each record.
Your rights
You can see and correct your profile at any time. You can ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to delete your account and everything linked to it. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
